Project info

The planning project will complete preliminary planning for priority upgrade works to the 60km link of the Bruce Highway between the Pine River and Caloundra Road Interchange.

The planning will develop a list of priority upgrade works to increase safety, ease congestion and improve flood immunity. It will provide high-level cost estimates and prioritise upgrade options to allow decisions to be made about progressing priority works packages to the next stage of development, business case stage.

The business cases will develop more accurate costs for upgrade options, and help to inform future decisions about infrastructure funding and delivery time frames.

The scope of work involved in undertaking planning for upgrade options along this 61km link of highway is significant. The original estimated completion date for planning was mid-2018, however this has been fast-tracked, with initial planning to be completed by late 2017.
