Coomera Connector (Stage 1)
The Stage 1 section of the Coomera Connector between Coomera and Nerang has been identified as the priority section to be built first.
Early works will be underway in mid-2024 for the Coomera Connector Stage 1 South package from Smith Street Motorway to Nerang-Broadbeach Road.
Coomera Connector Stage 1 will be delivered in 3 construction packages:

This project is jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments. Investment ID 1776678
The design and site investigations for Stage 1 South are nearing completion and an early works package will be underway from mid-2024.
The project team will send out regular project updates including construction notices and traffic alerts by email. Please register your details to receive these updates.
An early works contract has been awarded to Winslow Infrastructure Pty Ltd to begin making the site 'construction-ready'.
The early works package includes significant bulk earthworks and preloading activities south of Nerang River, where new embankment and excess material will be placed and given approx. 6 months to consolidate and settle. This is to ensure the bearing capacity of the underlying soft soils are increased before the main construction works start. It also includes minor vegetation clearing and relocation of some public utilities.
Design layouts for the Stage 1 South package from Molendinar to Nerang were released on 20 November 2023.
