Narangba station park ‘n’ ride expansion

The Queensland Government is expanding the parking facilities at Narangba train station.

Construction works include:

  • installing an underground stormwater detention tank
  • creating a new access off Main Street
  • earthworks to build a retaining wall and bioretention basin
  • adding a pedestrian path from the new car park to the station
  • landscaping and revegetation
  • installing new lighting and CCTV
  • asphalt surfacing and linemarking.

This project will deliver more than 100 additional parking spaces at Narangba train station, including new accessible and motorcycle bays. This will increase the park ‘n’ ride’s current capacity of around 380 to nearly 500 parking spaces.

This expansion will improve community connectivity and access to public transport. It will also help to manage local road congestion and ease overflow parking pressures in surrounding streets.

Park 'n' ride facilities play a key role in the South East Queensland transport network as they connect a diverse range of customers to public transport, help reduce traffic congestion and improve access for those with mobility difficulties.

We are delivering this project on behalf of Queensland Rail.
