Rockhampton — Emu Park Road, upgrades including overtaking lanes and other priority safety and capacity improvements
This project upgraded about 4km of Rockhampton-Emu Park Road to improve safety for all road users.
Rockhampton–Emu Park Road is a state-controlled road that connects the coastal community of Emu Park to Rockhampton. This road also provides for traffic from localities in the Livingstone Shire such as Tanby, Keppel Sands and Cawarral.
The scope of works included 2 overtaking lanes, road widening and pavement works, along with safety improvements and clear zone clearing.
The project delivered improved safety for all road users, improved travel times, travel reliability and increased regional connectivity and economic growth.

Key features
- The first overtaking lane commences at the eastern side of Sleipner Road for a length of 1.4km travelling towards Emu Park.
- The second overtaking lane commences 1km west of Tuckers Road for a length of 1.05km towards Rockhampton.
- Road widening treatments that provide 1.5m shoulders.

Current status
