The approved codes of practice can be found in the Queensland Road Vehicle Modification Handbook.

Light vehicle modification codes

The following modification codes are not used in Queensland:

Section LA—Engine

  • LA1: Equivalent engine installation
  • LA2: Performance engine installation
  • LA3: Supercharger and turbo charger installation
  • LA4: Engine modifications

Section LB—Transmissions

Heavy vehicle modification codes

Heavy vehicle modification codes are only used to certify modifications to heavy vehicles, unless otherwise authorised under the Use of heavy vehicle modification codes on light vehicles (Vehicle Standards Instructions).

Section A—Engine and ancillaries
