Approved Person Scheme

The Approved Person Scheme accredits experienced people to inspect and certify modified vehicles. Read more about the Approved Person Scheme.

If you apply to be an approved person, you will be assessed on your industry experience and qualifications and your suitability to perform the functions of an approved person.

As an approved person, you have legal responsibilities you must exercise with due care and diligence.

As an approved person, you will need modification certificate books and plates to certify a modified vehicle. Read more about purchasing modification certificate books and plates.

Your approved person accreditation is granted for up to 3 years. You will need to renew your approved person accreditation to continue your accreditation.

If your approved person accreditation document is damaged, lost or stolen, you must organise a replacement within 14 days.

You can surrender your accreditation if you no longer want to be an approved person.
