Achievements

The Brisbane Cycling Festival is a multi-discipline event showcasing Brisbane as a key global cycling destination.

Held in July 2021 and March–April 2022, the festivals featured action-packed line-ups of professional, amateur and mass participation events designed to engage locals and attract visitors from around Australia and overseas.

The 2021 Brisbane Cycling Festival Village and Expo was delivered for the first time at the Brisbane RNA Showgrounds, creating a new centralised festival hub. This was replicated again at the 2022 event, at an even larger scale.

Participants attended workshops and learned how to mountain bike, children learned to ride without training wheels, and everyone engaged with lots of exciting cycling-related activities.

More than 27,000 participants and spectators embraced the 2022 BCF. The event also made a significant contribution to Queensland's economy, generating more than $14.9 million and 80,000 visitor nights.

Next steps

We will support the Brisbane Cycling Festival in 2023.
