Government officers can now review and collaborate on Principal Cycle Network Plans in real time.

Overview

Action 1.4: Develop an interactive map to support stakeholder engagement during updates to Principal Cycle Network Plans.

Lead agency: Department of Transport and Main Roads

Status: Complete

Achievements

We developed a new interactive mapping tool that allows the department and local government officers across Queensland to review Principal Cycle Network Plans online and in real time.

The tool enables officers to easily propose and confirm changes to the plans as a 'one network' map, and to see suggestions in a live environment. The tool supports greater collaboration and information sharing between the department and local governments, and more timely, consistent and quality inputs to the Principal Cycle Network Plans review process.

Development of a separate interactive mapping tool to support officers to update the Priority Route Maps is in progress.

Next steps

We will continue to support the department and local government officers to use the new interactive mapping tool to create the updated and consolidated Queensland Principal Cycle Network (refer to Action 1.2).

The Priority Route Maps interactive mapping tool will be rolled out before we commence the Priority Route Map updates.
