Improving access to bicycle parking will make it easier for more people to combine active and public transport.

Overview

Action 1.25: Develop a roadmap for integrating access to bicycle parking, including potential to incorporate into the Translink Smart Ticketing project.

Lead agency: Department of Transport and Main Roads

Status: Long-term

Achievements

Our early investigations into this action revealed it is dependent on:

  • Queensland Cycling Action Plan 2020–2022 Action 1.21 – Develop a bicycle parking strategy in collaboration with key stakeholders to support the planning, delivery and management of appropriately designed bicycle parking across all public transport
  • completion of the Translink Smart Ticketing project.

Next steps

We will recommence investigating and scoping this action when the bicycle parking strategy (Action 1.21) is available and the rollout of the Smart Ticketing project is complete.
